Welcome,
My primary interest area right now is in discovering how people change,
and my particular interest is in the area of criminology, psychology, and sociology.
The Complex Systems Theory of Criminal Behavior is an attempt to build a
cohesive framework for understanding criminals and crime. By
starting with a basic premise, crime is a result of a complex
interlocking system that includes the criminal offender, relationships
with others, and society, and building upon that
premise, it is hoped that a greater understanding of criminal behavior
may be achieved.
Currently, I am working with a dataset that represents a set of
criminal offender risk scores that were collected over a period of
several years. I am working to develop methods to analyze and
interpret this data in order to better understand the lives of criminal
offenders. The risk scores show patterns of chaos in the lives of
criminal offenders that indicate repeated attempts to change.
If applying complex systems theory to criminal behavior is something you are interested
in, please contact me and we can
discuss any mutual assistance we can provide each other.
